The ai2 Institute participates in the European project InnDIH, recognized by the European Commission as a European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH), running until the end of 2028. This is a continuation project that follows an initial phase carried out between 2023 and 2025, aimed at promoting the adoption of advanced digital technologies and artificial intelligence in SMEs and public administrations, in order to foster innovation, optimize processes, and improve competitiveness.
During the first phase (2023–2025), InnDIH delivered nearly 1,000 services globally (983 in total), of which approximately 48% were related to artificial intelligence. This result highlights the high demand for and relevance of these technologies within the innovation ecosystem.
The new phase of the project (2026–2028) is focused on consolidating the results obtained and ensuring the sustainability of the InnDIH ecosystem beyond 2029, strengthening its long-term impact.
InnDIH AI CONNECT includes a specific area dedicated to the ethics of applying artificial intelligence in SMEs and public administrations, positioning the Valencian Community at the forefront of the responsible integration of this technology. In addition to the strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), other key technologies include: High-Performance Computing (HPC), cybersecurity, Big Data, and robotics.
Within this framework, cooperation and the exchange of services with European initiatives such as Testing and Experimentation Facilities (TEFs), AI Factories, the AI-on-Demand Platform, the AI Skills Academy, and regulatory sandboxes are being strengthened.
The role of the ai2 Institute (UPV) as a member of InnDIH AI CONNECT is essencial, promoting collaboration, knowledge transfer, and access to advanced technologies.
Close collaboration with companies and public administrations enables the development of tailored solutions that address their real needs in their digital transformation processes.
It is worth noting that InnDIH AI CONNECT offers free end-to-end support, structured into four service blocks:
- “Test before invest”
- Personalized training to improve digital skills
- Support to find investments
- Support in finding strategic partners at local and European level (innovation ecosystem and networking)
The project stands out for its strong commitment to digital technologies and for raising awareness around artificial intelligence, promoting its positive impact, responsible adoption, and an ethical vision that drives a sustainable and trustworthy digital transformation, contributing to the overall economic development of the Valencian Community.
